General question about servicing the vehicle..

Man the reminds me why I avoid dealers.
They are just wanting your money. There is no 30k service. Read your manual and see what is recommended at your mileage. If you are concerned about the brake fliud, use a turkey baster and suck the old fliud out and then refill it.

You know Solman98 I was just fixing to say that.. I did look at my manual and there is nothing about 30K. They gave me a brochure yesterday at the dealer and it has all sorts of milage nothing matching the manual. I mean the next time I have to take my car will be at 42,000 miles and the manual only talks about the 50K... so its weird you are right they are just trying to get my money...

Personally, I am going to have the 50k maintenance done on mine... I bought it with 33k on it, and I don't know how it was driven prior to that. Probably fine, since it looks like it was taken care of, but I want this car to last. It can't hurt anything to have the service done, but it can hurt if you don't...you never know.
Also, my Lumina was a rental car back in 1999. Great car, you'd never even know that it was! They take good care of those cars....

I just took my 08 SS in for service with 29000 miles on it. I was told by two dealers there was a 30,000 mile service. The service included a Trans flush, oil/filter change, throttle body cleaning, tire rotation and balance. There were other checks as well. Well, I didn’t remember reading about a Trans flush at 30k? I checked the manual and was correct. I asked the service rep what was required when I got there, and was told the only Required Service was oil and filter change and there was no 30k service for the HHR SS. That's what I got done along with a tire ration. The other service items were just recommendations by the dealer. It pays to read your manual.
