Good day for detailing

A good friend I served with bought a 2011 a few months before I got mine. His was a prior rental car and was in good shape but needed a bit of TLC. He brought it over this morning and we got started. I have been using Griot's Garage Detail products since 2000 and consider them one of the best on the market.

We started with claying the car and then applied one coat of one-step paint sealant followed by a coat of Carnauba Wax. Since the car was a rental car at the start of it's life, the carpets were not in the greatest condition. From the looks of the carpets the floor mats were not used. Griot's Garage interior cleaner made short work of the stains and although did not bring the carpet back to the day it rolled out the factory floor. We were able to make them presentable till his new Husky floor liners get installed.

We ended with a good coat of glass polish and sealant on all the glass inside and out and dreeed the tires and cleaned the wheelcovers. With a few exceptions I was surprised how the car came back to looking like a new HHR.

Nice job. I hadn't heard of Groits Garage products before, but check them out. I've been using Mcquires (sp) for many years, especially their detailing spray on bikes and cars.

The nice thing about Meguiar's is you can buy it at most auto parts stores and Wal-Mart. With Groits you have to order them . I order in the gallons sizes that last sometimes over 2 years. Also what sold me is over 60% of the cars that display at Pebble Beach use Groits products. Here is the link
