Question Has anyone purchased this product & does it work?

Keyless Entry Remote Dorman 13736 - DMKRR00004

It comes with 1 remote and a programer box.

The dealership wants 100.00 for key fob & also want to charge you to program it to your car.

There is a thread about it in the "parts" section, and elswhere. It comes with a programming module. NAPA sells it under the Balkamp label.

AutoZone has them.. shouldn't be an issue to get for less than $100, and you may be able to get it programmed yourself. Do a quick search and you will find some similar posts.

Last time I looked at one of those they were $59.99 @ Autozone including the programming module and I watched a guy program it in the parking lot. It worked including the remote start. That was about 4 months ago.

Dorman makes a good line of products, but be absolutely 100% certain of getting the right part number for your model year and current keyfob configuration.

There have been reports of errors in cross referencing causing vehicles to activate their security systems and going into "Anti-Theft" mode requiring a visit to the dealer for a reflash using a Tech II.

So it's a case of Caveat Emptor.

You get what you pay for, go cheap get cheap! Forman has a good line of products, but these haven't been on the market long enough to prove themselves.

Thanks to all that responded. I only posted this because I have read many post that stated different ways to program your key fob. ex: 30 min reset rule-dealer only the tech 11 machine can only program the fob and I think there is one more.

I'll be the test mule. I have ordered the item and I will also post a link:

Whatever you read about 30 minutes does NOT apply to the fob. That is a key thing.

You have to program the car for the fob to work. Used to be Techii then many aftermarket programming computers and now this module.

We are all waiting to see if the module will work for one of the $15 eBay fobs or ONLY the one that it comes with.
