How to change your own oil.

Again, Diggity, if you research my previous referenced post, GM states the filter "O" rings are designed for the life of the vehicle. And most dealers purchase their replacement filters in bulk. That method does not supply the "O" ring. Just think of all the filters that are installed without the new ring.
Now understand, I AM NOT saying you're wrong for changing it.....it obviously won't hurt. But to criticize someone for not doing it, when they experience no problems, or see no damage, is not valid...IMO. Especially when written documented evidence provides the contrary.
A lot of bad info here and misconceptions. I wish I could reveal the contractual job I just finished for GM. You would be amazed at the results.
Like solman, I still have my original installed also. But I do have an extra, just in case.

Resetting the oil life.
I went by the Manual and turned the key without starting it, press the Info and reset buttons at the same time nothing is happening. I'm thinking my reset button is bad. I know my Info button works. Help needed.

I've been doing it that way since I got mine..

Just to add.....the gas pedal needs to be depressed 3 times in 5 seconds. I've witnessed people who kind of hesitate for expectations, and it didn't change.
