It is in Devils lake, because I was in North Dakota for my sisters wedding when I started having problems. I never dealt with this before and don't know what to do. Any advice, I called several places that all referred my there to get a chevy fixed some places wouldn't even touch it.

Like I said ive never had a problem with power, I told him that he says well I don't know what to tell you. Now my car has a GPS tracking/kill switch if you don't make your payments on time. Now they are blaming that and they are ripping all the wires apart btw my bill is over 1500 and he says well this is a totally different job and you will be charged separate..I don't know what to do he says its not there fault and something else must have been wrong when I brought it in. My car has never died out nor loss power it was running when we brought it in..Its been a month since they have had my car.
More than once on this very forum the "car catcher" has been at fault. Did you call the Finance people to ask about it? Could be they assume since it's been out of state for so long that you have disappeared. Could be it is malfunctioning. Could be it's booby-trapped so that if somebody messes with it it goes permanent disable.

I talked to my finance company they say it is not malfunctioned cause they sent it a signal. So they say its not there problem basically. To have the company find the other problem. I told them this today and they assured me that it is the gps thing. So I really don't know what to do.

So company working on my car calls me about 6 tonight and says that the car is running and good to go, They put all wiring back to factory and took the gps out, I don't know how much my finance company will like that. But it is what it is. I don't know if I should contact my finance company and ask them about some kind of compensation for there part going out in the vehicle. I mean what if this happened while I was in the middle of a snow storm with my kids or something. If the part can just shut down when it wants I really don't want it in there. I will update more in the morning when I drive back to North Dakota to get my car. He says its done but I can not pick it up until about 2 I have no clue why but it better not be another 8 hour drive there for nothing.

When you get your HHR back, and things settle down a bit, read your financing contract very carefully. Some of the financing companies that use these GPS trackers, can and will disable a vehicle that goes out of state, and they love to bury little clauses like that in the fine print.

I've read where a certain distance in any direction from wherever they set as the default center is programmed into those units by some companies.

The point being: the finance company is not who you need to talk to, it's the GPS installer & the GPS company.

Ah, Don,but who had the GPS people install the tracking unit at fault? Me thinks the finance company, whom with should be shunned and never dealt with ever again!
