Lake Chevy and My HHR

Timeline archive everything you've been told by everybody during this entire process, as it would appear you will be handed a bill which no one else will take willing responsibility for and frankly while we haven't heard the tech's version; it would appear he/she has been stumbling around way too long on your dime.
Should the dealer still insist the GPS was the root cause of other failures, get it in writing before you pay the bill, cause you know once you approach the finance company and surrender any supposedly defective GPS, your opportunity to prove that will vanish and you'll still have what you currently experience; neither party willing to admit error and no one to offer relief.

Yes you are right, I am going to start documenting everything in writing everything they tell me I want it in writing, So when the TCM is burn out as they say, but yesterday they said the BCM was burnt out. But the car starts and runs fine I guess but wont move now. I have been givin a million diffrent excuses. This is my first and last time I will deal with this company. Still dont change the fact that my car is sitting in there shop not doing nothing now since I said I will not pay for the TCM, cause I dont think that is what is wrong.
The car ran and DROVE2 days ago, (supposedly fine)
Tech takes out car alarm and remote starter(claims they are two gps/killswitch systems he found)
I find out what parts they are since they gave them to me. I call immediatly after I call each company and tell the manager of the shop that the tech is wrong about the parts he took out. He says he will go and have a talk with him.
Im going to break down the cost.
988.08 for transmission solinoid/labor
353.16 For Taking out the GPS/Killswitch (which was not taken out auto car start and car alarm was)
547.99 For a Fuse Block/Labor( I dont think I needed it but they guaranteed it was the problem why car wouldnt start)
Now another 400.00 for TCM( Im not sure what that is).
Oh yeah
30.00 ( for overnight shipping for the fuse block)
They rented me a rental car at 38 dollars a day and 150 miles, I live in Duluth MN, So it is ROUGHLY 370 miles one way, I have made two trips now with the rental because they have called and said the car was done and ready for pickup. I complained to the manager about me paying so much for the car rental and being told to come get my car. He comps me ONE DAY OF CAR RENTAL. says hes sorry but thats all the company could do.
The tech says he has tore apart these gps things in Colorado hundreds of times, Im thinking if he thought that my car alarm and my auto star was gps systems they he was wiring them all wrong thinking they were diffrent things, I believe he F***** my car. I called Chevy the main Corp today while I was on hold they called the Company my car is at and they did not have any awnsers at the moment for them and would get back to them.

That whole thing is a f'n fiasco. They are totally ripping you off man. Glad is wasn't me, I'd either have my car back by now, or be in jail.
Is there a better business bureau down there?

Decoteau, I said this earlier, you really need to put your "balls to the wall" on this one with Chevy and the dealership and if you can't get proper satisfaction then consult an attorney.
This sounds so much like ineptitude on the part of the mechanic and dealership. They need to take responsibility for screwing up your car and for the amount of time that your car has been out of service. Your car needs to be put back the way it was before they ripped everything out (and at their expense) but by someone more knowledgable than the mechanic who originally screwed it up.

For those of you who have been following this thread: Take a look at this previous thread started by the OP. It may give you a little more info about how this started. https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/problems-service-repairs-42/2006-chevy-hhr-transmission-wont-shift-into-overdrive-47737/
