Besides why someone would drive a car that far knowing it had a transmission problem, I'm still trying to figure out how a simple transmission repair turned into tearing out half the electrical system with no end in sight.

Not sure what you mean, The car didnt have the problem when I drove it to North Dakota if it did it would have been in the shop in Minnesota and most likely would have been done by now.

I understand what your saying about the aftermarket things, I always thought it was built with these things installed. The I guess the point is they didnt know what they were taking out. They had no clue what these parts were. They thought I had total of 3 gps/killswitches in my car, They told me it had to be installed by previous dealers with the same kill switch type of deal. Well they are not what they thought they were. I wish it was just over with. Like I said before I have never dealt with a dealership for repairs and wont again.

That is what Im trying to figure out how it came to this point. I have to say it is the dealers fault cause my car has never had any problems. All of a sudden it happens.

Its not only the whole car part that bothers me either, its the money... I have paid a lot of money to come back and forth from Minnesota to get my so called fixed car. I rented a car which wasnt cheap. I missed out on Vikings games lol I am missing tonights game due to not having a car. Season ticket owner. I also have lost work wages taking all these days off going to ND and back. I live about 6 hours from the dealer. If I could do this totally diffrent I would but now I feel stuck. THe parts they say are wrong that are not wrong. The guarentees of my car running after they get this part or that part and nothing working.

I'm referring to a problem you posted earlier. You never indicated that the shifting problem was fixed so one could assume that you drove it like that. Did you ever get that problem resolved?

I really don't see what the reason he took it to that dealership has to do with anything. It is a Chevy Dealership so who cares why he picked that one, I am sure there was a reason.

The Dealer took the job and started working on it. So they must have seen the original problem.

They have been ripping parts out left and right. Replacing parts that have not been the problem.

The fact it's been over a month and they still have no clue what the problem is.

It's very disturbing that GM has not stepped in and settled this by now. Never heard of a problem like this "apparently one single repair" lasting this long.

If it was mine, I'd have a lawyer on the case, or would have forced them to make an offer to take the car off my hands by now.
Dealership is supposed to be the experts on their cars. And should know if a part is aftermarket or OE.

This is still the same problem its just never come back out of the shop.

They are going to be calling me back tommarow and basically said these type of things happen. So I will see what they have to say in the morning.

Basically..these type of things should NEVER happen. I'm sure the dealer policy isn't "rip out anything that isn't OEM". That's just horse $#!T, cut & dry!
If the 'aftermarket' stuff was suspected as the issue, they should have contacted you FIRST. That's the same as taking a car in because it won't shift and having them yank out your aftermarket headlights.
The tech likely blew a fuse somewhere on the aftermarket alarm/starter which killed the power everywhere (which is what some kill systems are MADE to do). A quick call to the local stereo shop and an hour's worth of alarm-guy labor MAY have fixed it all.

I PERSONALLY would not pay them another red cent until we had everything...E V E R Y T H I N G written down and agreed upon.

And please don't go in there with this "I just want it to be over" attitude. They will EAT YOUR LUNCH. You need to kick the freakin' door down and have the meanest Johnny Freakin' Cochran-assed lawyer you can locate do all the talkin.

Somebody needs to compensate all the wasted time, wasted gas, wasted rental car fees, emotional stress, harassment by the finance company and any thing else you can pull out of your ass. That dealer needs to pay YOU to drive all that pending attention and bad press as far away as possible.

Short version: You had ONE issue when you pulled into the service bay. Now they have RUINED your car. All of this will likely be documented in the service history, so good luck ever selling the thing.
