Loose Bolts I Found When Doing the Struts

As I posted earlier I did the quick strut replacement, new tie rod ends and new front brake pads a few weeks ago and so far their has been a great improvement. BUT......when I got the right side strut removed I noticed there was a bolt attaching a bracket to the engine that had backed completely out and one just over top that was real loose. So I tightened them and also the other two on the bracket which were not snug. They are TIGHT now for sure. I was looking for a picture or diagram that showed them and this morning I finally found what the bracket is: "The transaxle brace" and two bolts go to the trans axle and two into the block and the ones in the block had backed out?

So here is a link to the webpage that shows the brace, near the bottom of the page and I was going to post a picture but it appears I can not? Hope this helps and those that do the front struts and or brake pads make sure to check these bolts.

I did search here but did not see the actual brace so here we are:

H'mmm: I had to replace that brace after I had the motor switched out in my 2008; seems the garage managed to crack it!

Have you looked at the link in my sig re: posting pics?

If you were a "premium" member you could drag n' drop.

Yep, that's the one the shop broke on mine. FWIW, it was only about $20 or less new from GM.
