Miles between transmission fluid change?

That has to be a simple fluid change, nothing wrong with that in my book. Just the fluid runs $40 wholesale I'm guessing. If you do that often, I would go with a new filter every other time. Or get a new pan with a drain in it and do it yourself!
I recently installed a ATF cooler, now I'm wondering why I was worrying about a drain plug! I can just install a 2 way valve in the hose. BrainStorm!

Didn't read all the posts, so if I am repeating something, sorry. Most of the wear in a tranny happens in the first 20,000-30,000 miles. This plugs your filter. When you don't change the filter, the pressure builds and wears the pump out. When you finally change the filter, the pressure drops and the tranny fails shortly thereafter. These are the stories you hear. Usually people change the filter and fluid because problems are starting to occur. Too late. Failure is coming. Change filter on time and you'll get long life. My Chevy truck got 220,000 on rebuild with yearly changes while pulling a 6,000 lbs. trailer 2-3 times a week. That and a cooler helped.
