Mobil One oil question

Gentlemen,
Can someone please tell me the difference between "High Mileage" and "Extended Performance" Mobil One oils?
I've seen both types at Walmart...

Well, you cpuld go to the mobil one site and read about it from the source.

This is my Internets opinion: "High Mileage" means it has seal expanders in it. Once you start using it you can't go back because the seals will retract and start leaking again.

"Extended Performance" means you spend a few bucks more to get a few extra miles out of the oil. But if you use the Oil Life Monitor built into your HHR, you waste your money.

Personally, I have found Mobil One to burn. I don't use it. I prefer any other brand of SYN that is on sale when I need it.

When I bought my SS, I did a little Mobil One fact finding(read the labels of all the different types they offered)
The regular Mobile One had the GM Standard GM4718 listed on the label. This standard is the one GM recommends for the SS. None of the others, extended, high mileage, truck and suv, carried this particular standard number.

Not really sure what the difference is when you get into those special blends but something is different since they don't carry that Standard listing.

Pre Dexos oil models, I think it was GM Standard GM6094M that was listed as recommended for the regular HHR's.

stay away from synthetic oils unless you like spending extra money.

Greybeard- I'm on the yearly oil change plan as well. Every August or Sept.

" I refute your reality and substitute my own.". I prefer to live in the 21st century. I don't challenge suggestions just because the source is a big corporation.
