Odd noise while driving

i get a clicking/thumping sound..almost like a low tire sound when i start up my my car after sitting for awhile but only happens while in motion. It then goes away after a few mins..any ideas '08 with 70,000kms... not sure if this started happening just during the winter months or if it was around in the warm months

I'd take the hub caps off for a few days and see if the noise is still there without them.

Could be brake rotors, more likely if the car sits for a while.
Can you feel it at all when starting off? Could also be control arm bushings.

rear bearings? Winter tires with old fashioned nylon belts? Just plain winter tires need warming up? No jokes about Canadian tires wanting to invade the States where it's warmer.

if it were bearings..wouldnt it be a constant noise and not just for a few mins?

Just "snowballing", but, in some cases bearing do that kind of thing. You can check them by jacking the corner up and pulling & pushing on the wheel and then check for wobble and then spin for noise (taking into account brake drag). If you can feel ANY play, they are bad, the spec is in the micro or pico meter range.
