Oil Changes - Where do you get yours?
#15
I have always done my own, & will continue to do so..
I do save the reciepts for the oil & filter in my log book. I'm very fussy about keeping records of everything. And it's evidence, if a warranty claim should ever arise..
What I haven't read here, is that the HHR is supposed to allow draining oil with fill cap removed to vent it, for 20 minutes (min).
The quiky lube joints are winding the drain plug back in before it's even stopped draining..
I get the full 5 qts in & the stick reads perfectly full..
When I first got mine it was slightlty overfull from quik work.
Peace of mind comes from knowing, I'm doing more than just draining oil... I'm eyeballing everything under my all my rides.

A small 2 bay garage with orange and black walls and where a Harley resides in one of them owned by a little old man who owns a small dog with really large ears( make for a good BatDog!). Wait, thats my house!

I have always done my own oil also but I do have this jeep liberty I cannot do without a pit or a lift. It's the only vehicle I have owned that I could not change the oil in, I was p.o. When I first tried.
You are right sleeper, I like the fact that I can check out under my ride for things gone wrong or are going, but usually clean because I done the oil change and if it makes a mess...I clean it up.
