Plug Change

So, I changed the plugs last night...almost 103k out of the stockers. Put AC Delco Iridium's back in it. The one's that came out were ashy looking but not terrible. Seemed to drive smoother on the commute this morning...can new plugs make that big a difference?? Didn't change anything else. It wasn't harsh before. No rough idle, nothing out of the ordinary. Is it all in my head? What have you guys noticed?

I'm sure it's getting a better spark now verses the old ones with 103K on them.

That's pretty much what I thought. It's not like it is performing any better, since it wasn't bad before...just seems more smooth. Figured I'd ask. Thanks

Anyone know off hand what a new coil pack goes for? Don't need one, just curious.

Plugs can make all the differance. Have not had to change them in the HHR yet, but have done it a lot in my truck. They make all the dfferance in that. I am using the Bosh +2 in that(could not get the +4 last time) and I have picked up about 2 mpg and about 10 hp, according to the butt dyno. So I would expect similar results from them on the 2.4.

I pulled my plugs at 23K when I was swapping the air filter to a K&N.

Plugs looked fine, checked gaps & added anti-seize to the threads & put them back in..

Ya, I anti-seized the plugs when I put them in.

I had mine change at 70K just as a precaution. MY last car with "100,000" mile plugs looked so-so after 60,000.
