Proper Oil

What do most of you recommend for transmission oil, I have a 2007 LT with a 5 speed. I use synthetic oils in all my other vehicles transmissions. What weight should I be using, I don't have an owners manual. Also a bit unrelated, is there a coil over shock or something available for the rear? I do some light towing and have a problem with bottoming out occasionally. Thank you.

The trailer could maybe be loaded differently, to reduce the tongue weight. If the issue is not tongue weight, then that's not really light towing. Check the owner manual in the link in donbrew's signature line for towing capacity.

The manual also will tell you what oil to use.

Firestone in coil air bags will solve that bottoming out problem

Proper Oil

After reading several posts I'm a bit confused. I need to change the transmission fluid/oil in my 2007 LT with a 5 speed, it has 103K+ miles. Having some issues finding the GM recommended part #88861800. Has anyone used Valvoline MTF or are there any alternative products that are recommended that may be easily obtained. Thank you.
