? on socket for oil filter cap.

I just changed the oil in my HHR, it is a 2009 LT with the 2.4 Auto. I borrowed a 32 mm socket from work, and could not get it on the cap, it would hit the exhaust manifold, I did manage to get the cap off, so it was no big deal. But my question is this
What type of socket do I need to get, so I will have one handy the next time I do this?

I got mine from Advance Auto Parts, it was hanging with all the other oil filter wrenches next to the oil....... Says GM 2.2L or something like that on the package.

Ok, thanks Greybeard, I'll check them out this weekend and see if I can find one.

The "intake manifold" is in the way on the 2.4...... Exhaust is in the back, fwiw.

I got my stubby socket @ Advance also..

Same here, got it at Advance, but it's just the AmPro socket that sells on their tool isle. Short enough to fit, but you do have to take it off to remove the cap.

I took a cheap Harbor Freight socket and cut it so it's only deep enought to fit over the hex on the cap. Works great........

Shallow socket from NAPA at a reasonable price.

Sorry for the manifold mix-up, but at least everyone knew what I was talking about.
