Torque spec for transmission bolts.

Under Gregg just monitoring an oil leak and I wiped off one of the 17mm bolts that connects the transmission to the engine.... Facing the passenger side of the vehicle and it spun in my hand!!!!!!!! What's the torque spec for that bolt. I'd imagine it to be somewhat high so I snugged the bolt and gave it all little more but I want to property torque it. Thanks in advance. Only time someone was bear there other than me was when I had the transmission fluid serviced about two years ago

According to this thread at CSS, 55 lb. ft. should do the trick.

Awesome thanks. How it was loose was being me. The one adjacent to it took about 5 pounds of torque too. Scary.

I found 1995 to 1998 was 66 ft lbs then 99 and up its 35 ft lbs.
That doesn't sound right , I'll check my Haynes manual later when I get home

That's what I found too but it didn't sound right to me either. 55 might be more on the money seeing as it's the same with the cobalt ss..... Though is that list for the manual? Does it matter really?

Good call OB, Haynes says 66 lb. ft. I didn't even know it was in there. No, manual and auto are the same.

Took a look around and there literally seems to be no way to access the rest of the housing bolts so I am just hoping they are tight
