Trouble with Body Control madual how to test
My daughter just bought a 2008 HHR SS They did not have a working remote she went to a lock smith who can program remotes she bought for her car they told her that they could not program them something o do with Vin#. She also noticed she has no chimes for seat belts, she also has a clicking sound when stepping on brakes and letting off. she also said the locksmith said that there were supposed to be an indication of 4 slots for the remotes to be and none showed up She also ask if any one had any luck getting a BCM from salvage and did it work?

Those do not sound likw BCM issues.
Was the car a rental? If so then no remote door locks.
A search of the VIN can answer that.
Is the car an automatic? Is the clicking noise coming from the gearshift area?
There is a lockout on the shifter , to take out of "park", that actuates when the brakes are applied.
Mine is quite loud, but it is working as it is supposed to.
Swapping out a BCM requires that the BCM be programed to the installed vehicle VIN to function.

to the forums!!
Are they GM remotes or aftermarket? Model numbers?
Regarding the chimes, someone installed an aftermarket radio, and didn't get the adapter for the chimes. Or the speakers in the doors are no good, common issue.
Like Lonwane said, the clicking may be normal.
You really should get a diagnosis on the code, otherwise you may end up spending a lot of money throwing parts at it.
