Smile Wheel bearing replaced today

Waiting while dealer replaces left front wheel bearing on my 2009 HHR LT. Says will be about $485.00. Does price sound right?
Too they are changing ignition parts as per recall. A big day.

Does your car have ABS? If yes, then that sounds close.

Yes to ABS

Yes has ABS and is 60,000 miles. But not warranty as 68 months old.

I was trying to think. $1.08 CAN to $1.00 American, part cost and labor sounds about right..

Wow. I didn't realize it was that much to have someone else do the work.
Glad I'm able to do my own labor.

Fwiw. I looked up that hub assembly online from a national chain store. Moog part listed for $175.
The dealer part price must be a lot higher. The labor can't be that much because it's a relatively simple part swap out.

Im with firemangeorge on this one. Sounds expensive for a simple swap that can be done with a few sockets and an hours time. Also glad I do my own labor, it save a ton.

Fireman, Part $175 for CAN$ is 190.70. The factor they probably allotted for 2 hours of labor, of which it shouldn't take but 1..

Let us know how everything turns out at the dealership, Garmel. We're hoping they can get your wheel bearings and recalls done in a good amount of time. We'd love to have your feedback!
