When trying to figure out what us Canadians pay for GM parts from a local dealer you actually need to ask the dealer. Doing a 1.08 x the USA price does not work - that formula has no bearing on it at all (no pun intended).

For example - when the USA price for the camshaft actuator solenoids were $60-75 in the US, some of us in Canada were being charged $150.
Even the after market supplier prices here are WAY more generally than in the USA.

I just got mine replaced and paid 180 and they even added more freon to my AC lol. But then again a dealership will charge for what "the book" says how long it should take but they will get it done quick and just let you wait for the remaining of the time.

Why did you have to add for freon to your AC? Do you have a leak?

I didn't have a leak but my HHR was just sitting there for almost a year ( needed the engine replaced) so now that we got it back up and running it just needed more freon since it hadn't been used in a while.

My dealer does a very good job every time.
The recalls were fixed quickly. The wheel bearing too. Only disappointment was the wheel bearing repair at 60,000 miles is 8 months out of warranty.

As you say but freon doesn't evaporate or lose volume over time. The only way it dissipates is by leaking. Your dealer pulled a 'fast one' on you if that was the explanation.

Right, now when it comes back in for A/C not working, they're going to blame the owner saying it's not their problem, and charge full price to repair/replace.

I doubt that they put any freon in unless they opened the system when they replaced the engine.

I had the left one done, then a few months later, the right one. Cost around $400 each. Might be wise to get second opinion, normally local mechanic does it cheaper than the dealership I have found
