I like the original blades on the '06! I have 36,000 miles on them and they have been on the car since new (May 2006).

I switch to Winter blades in Nov. They seem to work better with snow/ice etc

I hired a homeless man to ride on the roof of Car 11. He has a wonderful micro shammy and when I knock on the roof, he leans down and wipes the window clean. And he doesn't even mind working in the rain! The Micro shammy is amazing. And he's cheaper than new blades...two sandwiches and a cup of coffee every other day.

I can't see going to a dealer - way to much money - I head for Wal-Mart to get mine, change them when needed. Now it's getting time for winter blades.......we are suppose to get some SNOW this Wednesday morning!!

You can buy replacement wiper blades for the front at almost any car store or even Target or Wal-Mart.

Now the rear whiper blade... that's another thing. You have to buy the wiper blade from GM or any Chevrolet Dealer for $25.00.

My SS is the 3rd HHR I have owned, the first 2 where 07s and had the one piece blade. the 08 SS has the traditional type blade with insert.
Is this an 08 thing or a SS thing? If it's a SS thing, why?

I still have the original blades on as well, with over 70,000 miles on them. Still work like new. I clean the blades with rubbing alcohol every time I wash the car to keep road grime and stuff off. I've never had a set of wiper blades last this long, but as long as they work, I'll keep using them.
