Since SoCal sold all of his, I'm not sure if anyone else has them. Good luck, and I wish I could be more help.

How did you modify the stock knobs? Did you cut the rod? Did you have to remove the door panel? Do you have pics? I was going to attempt to modify the stock knobs, but then I saw SoCals had his for $6 and couldn't pass up that deal.

The one's SoCal sold were just generic door lock knobs like you can buy at any auto store. You still had to take the door panel off and cut the rod with his. You could modify the stock ones just as easy but there is the potential of damaging the stock knobs removing them from the shaft.

yeah, one of mine didn't want to come off very easy... and the pliers "kinda" ate through my E-tape i had around the teeth.

ill snap a few pics later. i didn't take the panel off. just dremeled about 3/8in off the rod.

With SoCal's you did NOT have to take off the door panel, just cut about a 1/4" off the top of the rod.

Okay....then you could do the same to your stock. Basically all you're doing is shortening the rod with or without SoCal. If you ruin your knobs pulling them off go to your local auto store and buy a generic set for a couple of bucks. There was nothing special or HHR specific about the damn knobs. If you look back through the way old post I taught him about our knobs. He thought they were normal screw on ones until I posted a pic to prove otherwise.
