Oh, that works too. We could go to the Miracle Twin in Flint for a movie, (which is a drive in theater) then swing by Sonic on Miller Rd. afterwords!

 

Love the miracle twin. I have spent many summer nights there with a truck bed full of friends, or just a lady friend... Not the best drive in, but it's not too shabby. They broadcast their own radio station too so you can play the movie through your car speakers or a radio instead of the crappy little boxes. Haven't hit the Sonic yet, too many good restaurants in the area, and I can go to that down here...

But yeah I am game for some Michigan meets. It sucks since i am stuck down here, but if there is one that is looking good I could go visit my parents and hit it up. Weekends would work better for me, since it is a 5.5 hour drive up in the first place.

Near Kalamazoo is the St. Julians winery. They do tours for free and then have a wine tasting stuff. Good wine, it's all we drank before we moved down here and found a local winery we like.

Go a little farther East and hit up South Haven for a day at the beach. If you want to get a little more "high society" go north to Saugatuck which is an artist town. Lots of fancy shops and restaurants and such.

A little more North and visit Esmarkey in Grand Haven, same beach ideas, nice small downtown. I'll actually be up in Grand Haven (most likely) mid-end July already, so that would be convenient. Just don't do it during the Coast Guard Festival.

Could go to Muskegon to Michigan Adventure and do a mini CP meet. It's even owned by cedar point. I haven't been in awhile but I heard they got a new coaster and it is like the Raptor. So they have a few good ones but the water park is really good too.

Oh, Sonic is quite the treat here! Up until this fall when they opened the one on Miller Rd, there was only one in Michigan, and it was in the Detroit area...so we could never have it. Now, I have friends who go to Central in Mt. Pleasant and they drive down occasionally and pick me up and we go there to eat!!!

ha, Saugatuck is many things... Only been there once though my roommate worked as a chef there.

Since we got a sonic here, it doesn't do much for me. I was always furious in kzoo because they played sonic commercials all the time, but like crazycarkid said there was only one in michigan. When i moved to lafayette, still no sonic but there are a couple on the way to my parents house. so we would stop as a treat. Then they built one here, and i've only been once in a year, and it was with people from kzoo that hadn't been to one... Guess once you have it, you don't appreciate it.

Another idea would be the Detroit zoo.

Or if you guys are in to beer, a brew tour. Could hit up a few different breweries from different towns (although that could lead to some problems now that i think of it, bring a DD) or find a place that would actually let you tour. I don't think Bell's gives tours, but you could check with a few. New Holland brewery is in Holland (duh) and near Grand Haven for a combo event. Beach and beer Extravaganza (lots of beer on the brain lately, brewing a fresh batch tomorrow)

 

Well I couldn't go to the breweries...lol Maybe in 2 years!

 

If breweries were happening that would have to be taken into consideration. Places like New Holland are a brewery and restaurant, so that would fly. Bell's is only 21 and over at night. You just wouldn't be able to join in on the best part of a brewery tour.

 

Not a beer drinker We did do a winery tour as part of C.P. II and it was pretty neat.
