Well I won't be able to guarantee anything! My friend's aunt works for Mariot so we'll be staying there dirt cheap, and taking the train! Fun fun!

you taking amtrak the entire way or dropping the car off in Michigan city (or another similar station in the area) and taking the south shore?

We'll take the train from Durand all the way to Chicago. Durand is the stop after Flint, and I'd rather leave my car in Durand than Flint for a few nights...
