Dracos, I learned a great tip the other day to paint in low temperatures.
Get a bucket of hot sink water and keep your spray cans dunked in it until your ready to spray. Heat the area with a heat gun, spray (usually 80-100 degree water so the cans are warm) then heat gun dry after works perfect. I sprayed my wheels in my 40 degree garage.

Even when it's not cold, warming rattle cans like you said makes the spray finer so you get a more even coat.
I have 2 cans of sandable primer, but I'm not ready for them yet. I'm still working on the contouring, so sitting outside for a couple hours at a time with a file in my hand isn't feasable until the weather warms up.

Here's a novel concept..... Before I made my grill.....I turned on two space heaters in the garage, hour later grill thought it was in Florida, finished installing paint, turned off heaters and took it in the house to cure. The grill never knew it was built while it was 38 degrees outside.........
