I actually put this on hiatus until the latter half of February. I have nowhere to work on it indoors, and it's too cold to work outside for now.

Dracos, I learned a great tip the other day to paint in low temperatures.

Get a bucket of hot sink water and keep your spray cans dunked in it until your ready to spray. Heat the area with a heat gun, spray (usually 80-100 degree water so the cans are warm) then heat gun dry after works perfect. I sprayed my wheels in my 40 degree garage.

It took me way less than 6 hours to finish the same process on my grill, while it's taking you well over 6 months to finish yours.

Even when it's not cold, warming rattle cans like you said makes the spray finer so you get a more even coat.

I have 2 cans of sandable primer, but I'm not ready for them yet. I'm still working on the contouring, so sitting outside for a couple hours at a time with a file in my hand isn't feasable until the weather warms up.

If you're spraying onto a cold surface, you really aren't gaining anything by warming up the can. By the time the mist hits the 40* air and then gets applied on a cold metal surface, you are back to square one, or maybe even worse off because everything isn't at the same temperature

Here's a novel concept..... Before I made my grill.....I turned on two space heaters in the garage, hour later grill thought it was in Florida, finished installing paint, turned off heaters and took it in the house to cure. The grill never knew it was built while it was 38 degrees outside.........
