Balerion's third brakelight overlay
Saturday I drew and cut out (completely by hand) my third brakelight overlay. I tested using brakelight repair tape as a diffuser, but it turned the light pinkish, so I took it off before putting the overlay on. The vinyl is actually wrapped up and over the flanges on the bottom and sides of the lens so no light bleeds around it.
Hopefully everyone can make out the flames in the picture.
(Excuse the filth, Sunday was an all day dust storm, and it's been drizzling today)

I may redo it because the blackout on the glass covers the top 1/4" to 3/8" of the lens, which I didn't realize.
I never thought of doing a bowtie... I like it.
Has anyone doing a retro theme used the old "Chevrolet" script as an overlay?

I went back and forth for the past week trying to decide what I wanted. I've always hated third brake lights and in past vehicles I've either disconnected them or blacked them out. I decided to keep this one small and simple. I actually used high heat paint to black out ecerything around the bowtie. I think it came out ok. I actually thought about going and school but I try to keep things themed. I thought about flames too but here again I don't think I'll use flames anywhere else on her.
