Black roof rack side rails

I plan to swap out my chrome roof rails, can anyone tell me what the finish is on the black ones (part #19159798)? Is it smooth bare plastic, textured (like the side mirror arms), or painted black?

They are flat black steel, seems pretty sturdy. I believe the end caps are plastic though.
If you want pics, just let me know.

I did a full delete on mine and used some body plugs and silicone to keep it from leaking. Looks much better without the racks but if you use them that's another story.

Yes, please. I'd like to keep the number of different blacks to a minimum when the de-chrome process is finished.

chef: have you posted details of what you did to delete them?

Hope these help!

I'm looking at investing in the crossbars instead of deleting them - I'm wanting to keep going with the trucklette-ness of it.

LOL took some of mine to post, guess I dont have to now.
As you can see in the pics, the black plastic end caps match the black mirrors, while the steel rails are a slightly finer texture. Not a big issue from a distance. This aint an audi ya know
