Thanks, yeah I bought it with the intent to only use it on road trips. I'm heading from Austin to St. Louis, I'll leave it on the whole time I'm there and then pull it off once I get back to Austin in about a week.

Like hyperv6 said... if the bra gets wet on your trip, it is fine...but you cannot let it dry while it is on the car. It will fog the clear coat. I did a roadtrip from So Cal to Missouri a few years ago it saved the front end of the car, good buy!!!! Todd (Uma)

Checking the weather in StL it looks like there's definitely going to be rain, and possibly snow. At that rate it'll be wet basically most of the time I'm there, and taking it off while it dries will mean I won't have it for the ride back.

Trying to balance laziness with effectiveness with not damaging the paint - has anyone else had any experience either way with leaving it on wet? Did it fog the clear coat or no? (Not trying to ignore or argue with you Uma, just asking for others' opinions too.)

Ditto here, Colagan is the only brand to buy.Don't get lazy and leave it on when you don't need it and only put the bra on when the front is clean (dust it off with a duster) and you'll be fine. Abuse and overuse is what feeds fuel to car bra critics. After I'm done using mine, I always clean it, treat it and stow it.

On a couple of week long trips including last week's trip to Vegas where it rained, I left it on during the whole duration of the trip to and from.. just before I put it on, I waxed the front end of the car where the bra would be touching the paint. So far no issues..but my car is not black...

Recommend on long trips. We took a trip from Alabama to Pittsburgh and back about 3 weeks ago in the rain, ice, and snow. The Bra did a great job of protecting the front end. I recommend putting a good coat of wax on the front end before putting the bra on and taking it off asap after a trip. You really don't want dirt getting trapped under the bra and sanding you nice paint job over time.

I got what they call the Carbon Fiber look one. It doesnt look like CF at all but I think it looks better than the regular bra. It looks great. I love mine. Perfect for the summer when bugs are everywhere. It cleans easy and fits perectly.

After reading the reviews and comments on the Colgan Bra I ordered one for my SS. It should be here in a few days.

The bra is a good investment. I don't have a bra, but wished I did. I have some skuffs on the paint from a piece of truck tire rubber that flew up on my last trip between NY and Florida.

The clear 3M stuff will crack and end up getting dirt under it, but this is only if you intend on keeping your HHR for many years. This has happend to my truck and it looks like a roadmap, but it's 24 years old.
