Colgan bra - reviews?
#21
A Bra is a useful tool for a car but it has to be used wisely. If not used properly they can do as much damage to paint than a long trip.
Dark paints are the ones that usally see the most damage.
Keep it dry, clean and tight and you should be ok.
People who leave them on all the time usally have to to mask the damage done by leaving them on too long.
Colgan is the only one I would recomend. They invented it and still make the best. Avoid Lebra.

I have bought 2 Colgan Bras. First is for a 07 LT. Great fit. No damage to paint to date. Second is for a 2010 SS. Fit is perfect. As far as I am concerned it is the best bra on the market. I have a third one coming for my 1997 Dodge truck. Forget about the clear one, its too difficult to install.

The clears are not really that hard to install but you really need to know what to do. Once you have done one you can do most any.
The one on my hood is the first one I did and it came out perfect. It can be a little tricky on bumpers. Most cars hood are much easier than the HHR.
A good hair dyer or heat gun is a must on complex curves. The trick is to make sure to use the install liquid [some kind of soapy water] and squeegy the hell out of it.
To be honest it is the same way you would put a Screaming Chicken on a Trans Am. I did one of those too and it really was not hard if you follow the directions.
These thing intimidate more than they are hard.
