Custom Headlight/Taillight assembly

2007 LT2, going to venture into the unknown and modify the housing and light assembly for both my head and tail lamps. Just starting this thread in hopes that I can get some good ideas.

A friends 2010 Silverado seems to have what I'm looking for, and the measurements seem to create an absolutely easy build and install.

What do you all think about the look? Regarding the rear assembly, going with the lines of the car I would think the wheel wall would require a cutout on the lamp itself, would this look good?

So...you wanna cut the sheet metal and fit the 'rado lights to the rear of the HHR? Would definitely be different, but I'm guessing that it'd be a LOT of work to get the square-ish light to contour to the rounded haunches of the HHR. As for the front...good luck and yikes!

I'm just not sure that the Silverado lights would work without giving you a look reminiscent of the Wagon Queen Family Truckster, they seem awfully "busy" for a smaller vehicle like an HHR.

for headlights, if you wanna try undertaking a good project for something unique like that, i have noticed 1st generation Scion tC headlights are relatively close in size, shape and contour to ours. probably would be a heck of a lot easier than silverado headlights. i think the silverado pieces, front and rear, are just far too big and blocky to be workable on the HHR, especially since the headlights are designed to be basically straight up and down (flat faced) and the HHR has a rather definite lean back. i really don't think it would look very good at all. the tail lights would be easier to work with, but again, much too big and blocky IMO.

If anyone wants to try this....I've got a pretty nice set of 2004 Scion xB headlights I'd like to get rid of
