Unless its going to be functional, I'd personally turn it around to the "Cowl Induction" configuration, but that's just me....have a soft spot for Cowl Induction. Always thought it was "cool".

Can I also see the underside, and turned around?

Get a Good Automotive dewaxer, dewax your hood, a couple times with clean fresh rags each time.

GET some 3M Adhesion Promotor packs. and USE them.

I just got 5 packets today at my auto paint supplier, for some things I am installing.

Happy with my choice...

When i decided to go with a scoop i liked this on because of the wide stance.
i think it works great with the hhr wider hood more square then long and it is universal but i got the one that fits the chevy Cruze SS.

So from the looks of your supplied photo (and some thought you really didn't own a camera ) that it appears to not have a real opening, just painted black to give an appearence of one? If that's the case and the scoop has basically the same contour of your HHR's hood then by all means double sided tape only could be used to secure it! A couple do's also when installing! Position the scoop to the desired location before any double stick tape install and place say a half dozen pieces of masking tape on the hood for general positioning or centering of the scoop! Also when applying the tape to the scoop (first), make sure you are at least a good 1/8" back from the edge of the scoop and not flush with it's edge! The tape will attract dirt and could distract from your HHR's clean look .....

Best-O-Luck ,
