help on body work on grille
Interested in modifying stock grille. Anyone know of the best material to use when doing modification to grille. I want to cut out some of the bars and fill in the area where the bars were removed. I pretty good at body work and paint and have done a lot of repairs on early corvettes, but don't know much about the new plastics and what sticks best to them. I hate wasting my time and having to do something over and over again.
As a side note, both the satin and chrome grille can be purchased on line from several GM dealers for less than $70.00 plus about a $20.00 shipping and handling charge. I purchased one of each as spares. Total shipping and handling charge for both was $30.00. I'm going to cut up the satin one.

Bet if you PM Turtle you can get a blow by blow/step by step of how to do your grill.

Chrome is also a good material in GM grille. But for me, I wouldn't spend much on that for a grille... there are other parts that's more important than that

I cut my satin grille and I am going to try the cotton batting and resin (used for building speaker boxes etc. instead of oldschool fiberglass mat and resin. I am also going to "peel" the satin finish as paint does not like to adhere to it...you could also try self-etching primer...Pat
