Mike, I agree that the diffuser (as it sits now) would be too much. That is why I had said at the bottom of my last post that the diffuser hasn't been dialed in yet. I have a lot more shaving to do on the foam out back :)

Sorry Ben, I guess that I have to work harder at losing my "anti-diffuser bias", may I offer a photo of a sweet 1950 Super Convertible as a form of apology?

There's really no reason to offer an apology when I didn't take any offense in the first place Mike. :)
Thanks for the shot of the stunning '50 though! And come to think of it, the 1950 Buick, with its waterfall grille wrapping over and under the front bumper was kinda like a front diffuser of its day. Albeit a very heavy chrome diffuser... Lol
Yes Lucky, that front had to weigh a ton!

Looking good Ben.

I don't know if I told you but as well as working for the Buick for 31 years I worked at a fiberglass boat company (which ended up being purchased by Browning) and with fiberglass for about a year; 1965.

When I tell people a fiberglass boat is "painted before it is made" they have a hard time believing me.

Oh, and the rear diffuser hasn't been dialed in yet.

Fantastic build. Those tail lights came out fantastic. I can't really get down with the goofy looking tail lights on stock HHRs. I never would have thought to use 350z lights. I know I have glazed over a few in the scrap yard looking at options for replacements. Looking forward to updates and of course more pics!

Thanks Boydie! Yes you had told me that you used to work with fiberglass at a boat shop. I am learning through trial and error.

Thanks victweezy! The 350z tail lights are something that I thought might suit the look I was going for. After some serious eyeballing of one in person and taking some measurements, I decided to go for it. They have not been an easy fit though.

Last year I purchased a fiberglass boat for almost nothing that needed repair. I removed the (rotted) floor and the rotted stringers. Made new stringers and had to grind off the old fiberglass tabbing. I have done a lot of things in my life, but grinding fiberglass has to be the worst, most unpleasant job. Even with a full-face respirator and tyvek suit I itched here and there for days. I did learn a lot about fiberglass and how to reinforce, mix and cure it.
