The masking tape is pretty close to the color the roof is getting painted as well as the sides below the sweep spear that doesn't exist (yet). :)

Mike,
What do you think of the curve added to the roof line? Can you picture it with the back two pillars blacked out? And is it too much?

Blacking out the pillars will pull it together, and it'll give a "roof line" reminiscent of the postwar Buick Sedanet.

Cool :)
I hadn't thought of the Sedanet Mike. My thinking was that the curve at the window/roof line and blacked out pillars would do two things. First, it would help separate the wagons looks from other HHR's. Kinda like the sort of differences GM would have done had they ever gave another brand their own HHR platform mate. And the other thing is that the curve will mirror the sweep spears once I add them to the sides.

Thanks for your feed back....I really do appreciate it :)

Keep up the good work Ben, just promise that you'll remember us when you're famous OK.

Are you thinking of chrome Sweep Spears, or doing them in a coordinating contrast color?

Don't think I'll ever be famous but thanks for the kind words!
I am doing a chrome sweep spear with the same white I am using on the roof painted below the chrome strips.

That'll look super, no pun intended, any thoughts yet on wheels/tires?

In my mind I'm seeing it on retro styled chrome rims with wide whites.

You nailed it Mike! I am planning on trying some white wall paint on the old tires and putting some steels on it with some Chrome Full Moons from Hubcap Mike's. Would love to eventually buy real white walls and baby moons, but it's just not something I can afford. Such is the life of a starving artist....lol
