HHR Headlights

HHR Headlights
I don't like the modern look of the headlights on my HHR panel. Has anyone thought about customizing the headlights by replacing them with old style
1950s round lights? It would be a major job and finding the old lights from an old truck or VW would work if you have talent with a torch, which I do. Cut the
sheet metal and light socket from the donor car and rework onto the HHR. It would make the HHR look more like the 40s/50s panels.
This would be highly reminiscent of our friend on this forum who found a kit to add the 1955 Chevy tail lights to his HHR.
Any comments, thoughts, or ideas? richboyd@frontier.com

Since the front of the HHR doesn't have enough of a flat area to install some sort of "bucket" behind the fender to support a headlight, it would require and extensive amount of body work to make one work.
If you want that "look" you could always seperate the lense from the base and paint eveything except the headlight reflector body color. That would give the look of just a round headlight without looking the much better light output of modern headlights.

Take a look at this HHR "Buick" conversion and you'll probably change your mind.
