lambo doors

Looks like getting in the one with lambo doors is difficult at best...they dont have the right shape for it. I really wish people would tone down the chrome, though. IMHO, chome is an accent, like fine jewelry, when too much is worn it looks like costume jewelry.

Actualy as much as I hate to say it I think lambo doors would work well with the HHR. I dont think you would have to roll the fenders. There is no right or wrong shape for doors the problem is the fenders. Most cars don't have the right shape fenders and they hang up on the opening. Solution? Change the shape of the fenders where the door hangs up. Some cars work well like the 99'-04' Mustang (no rolling required), some don't like most Japanese imports (requires fender work).

I like the lambo doors it is just that they cant open to 130 degrees which would let you in better and if i cant get my doors open to 130 degrees then i dont want it. but it would look good if you had them and they oped up with the touch of your remote

What about doors that open together form the center. I dont know the exact name of them. But the front woudl open normally, and the rear doors would open in reverse. I've seen them on the Mazda RX8. I think those doors woudl look sweet on the HHR. I wouldn't have the slightest idea on how to get that done though. lol. Probably cost a good amount.

I always have a bunch of ideas for my HHR, and suicide doors is one of them. And it's actually one my wife said she'd like. Now just have to wait for the warranty to be up...with how many miles I drive it won't be long.

Lambo doors work well on the HHR. I had Vertical Doors, Corona, Calif. do mine. If you go to their web site you can see my HHR (Harvey) and the orange/white one is Fear One. It will cost you about $2,500.00 for lambo. I chose Vertical because there is no welding, and the guy that designed them had done some work on the early space shuttles, so I figured he knew metals. The reason they don't open any wider, or go higher is due to the design of the fenders and hood of the HHR. If you want the look then you have to put up with what you have. As far as suicide doors go your talking about $5,000.00 dollar due to the fact that the rear portion that they would have to swing from is so weak in the HHR. That area has to be rebuilt to stand up to the swinging of the door. Lots of time and time is money.
If you want to see HARVEY with the doors up you can go to Californiacruisers.com and look for (Harvey the HHR) I hope this has helped. I LOVE THE VERTICAL DOORS no problems and they have been on for 2 plus years. Harvey is driven every day. If you have any questions please feel free to pm me.
See ya down the road
