Looking for things for my dad's HHR

Hello,

Found this forum while searching for parts for my dad's HHR. He is looking for paint or metal vents for the windows and center hub caps, simular to baby moons. Anyone know where I can find these?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Kaitlin

Welcome to the site!

I would suggest you first to go to places like Autozone or Pep Boys.

Okay........ First, Welcome to the forum!

Now, baby moon style caps for the stock steel wheels? Sorry, searching the forum won't help.... there are none, unfortunately. There are custom steels wheels that have moon style caps, but they are pricey. Search the net for "Wheel Vintiques" and you will see them.... Many guys have been buying them from Summit Racing. There are some Full Moon style caps that supposedly fit the stock 16" steel wheels.... Search the net for "hubcap Mike"

Now..... What kind of "metal vents" are you wanting? If you mean like on the old station wagon back window vents, the closest you will find are the see through smoked type, as far as I know. Those are made and sold in sets front and back windows....... I have just the back set on mine and am just about to paint them.... chrome would be sweet but the only option for that would be covering them with chrome tape.... I've looked at that, thought about it and decided on paint.

Good luck, hope your Father enjoys the ride!

For the true retro look, the Wheel Vintiques wheels from Summit is the way to go. They come in smoothie or Rallye (slotted) in primer (to paint the color you want) or chrome. There are two available caps, a baby moon and a '49 Chevy style with the bow tie embossed in a circle in the center. I have the chrome smoothies with baby moons. Lots of the people here on the forum have the painted ones with trim rings and baby moons. The painted ones run about $150 with the trim rings and caps, plus you have to paint them. The chrome ones with the baby moons are about the same and don't require paint. A black HHR with red painted ones, or a red car with creme ones looks really great.

Actually, I believe r6gal is indeed a gal... Hence here signing Kaitlin!

In my book that is even a better deed. I don't remember my daughter ever buying something for my cars, she just drove'em till they needed more gas!
