Jeff® painted his Bowties, and they look sharp on his red SS, so why not try red on a black one. Chrome would also look great, try a Google search because Bowties are available in chrome or polished billet aluminum.

red looks great on the red, but might be too much especially on the front of a black hhr....time to experiment

Instead of a bright red, you could always experiment with a dark red or maroon.

I bought powder-coated black ones. I think they also have chrome ones. No red though. Pulled the old ones off, stuck the new ones on. Done.

Taped mine off and painted...first go around I did them the body color...second go around I went black. The only bowtie I have left is on the rear beauty bar and I may eventually do away with that one.

I went with a metallic platinum gray and I love it. But no shortage of great-looking bowties here. Great thing about black is you can pull off just about ANYTHING and have it look cool. Good luck with whatever you choose...

Chonface, I'm actually between coats of clear now. I'll post pics tonight. The gold foil on my back emblem was going too. I painted them red and have a black car. Give me a few hours dry time.

I pulled mine with a paint scraper, the several grades of sandpaper to prep.

I went with purple pearl on my bowties... Used the same purple without the pearl overcoat on my brakes and some engine parts. I get a lot of positive comments. Red would look equally as good.
