Here's kind of an "out there" idea...just brainstorming...

I saw the initial pics in the thread, before you got the running boards painted. Ever think of having only the black inlays painted silver, if such a thing is possible? I think that could look sharp...it would definitely stand out. Photoshop anyone?

I just came across a pic showing similar to what I was envisioning where the chrome wraps around the (uhmmmm, tire opening area) ... are those called fender holes?

here

I don't remember which website I saw them in. I think I want to buy them. If anyone knows what they are called or where I can find them, I'd appreciate knowing. Geez ... probably not fender holes or even tire rims. I need to learn terminology - I had to look up 'lowering springs' as it is.

Devils950003, I think you might be on to something. Okay, Okay, EVERYTHING and EVERY IDEA excites me about these cars!

Southerner- That is CJ's ride "Shagy".. He likes everything on his..
Too busy for my tastes, but to each, their own..(of course)..

The trim you seek is for the wheel well openings..Called "Wheel well mouldings". It's a plastic chromed look, with 3M self adhesive tape to hold it on.. You wrap it around the opening as you apply it.

At least a couple supporting vendors here have that. One is Race & Street, Maggie is having a 10% off sale this weekend. https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/deleted-threads-41/race-street-4th-july-sale-30498/

Other is HHR boutique.http://hhrboutique.com/items/hhr-ext...-trim/list.htm

Happy Shopping...

Wheel wells, of course! Thank you, Shagy! I'm making lists of all the things I like and then I'll put them together in a package. That is one fine looking rig ya'all have.

I prefer the look with out the running boards but after getting rock chips on the rear quarters I am considering them seriously now. It defiantly looks better color matched.
I am planning on buying another HHR soon with all the options I want and will probably order it with running boards. Rather have the bottom sides of running boards messed up than the side of the car.......

Is it possible to install running boards and still keep the front and rear mudflaps?

if i may, the rears would not be affected by mounting running boards.
but the fronts would probably have to go

If they are the Chevy mudflaps they are supposed to work with the running boards fine. Wont work with the SS side skirts without cutting some on the front set.

They are the specific Chevy HHR Mudflaps that have the HHR Logo only on the back flaps. Would I still have to get rid of the front flaps?

No, they fit with the running boards or the standard rocker molding. The contour is the same.
