Oh yea... I did my Tail Lights too

Thanks for the input guys! I'm learning a lot hanging out here! I just bought my first HHR after 5 years of dreamin'. Now I'm looking forward to making it "my own".

Well as of right now (like Rob stated ) I am the not so proud owner and driver of an underpowered, uncomfortable, automatic '06 silver Jetta TDI... I am not to crazy about it!! Unlike a BFM HHR it gets lost in parking lots cuz it looks like 75% of the other parked cars. Don't get me wrong... it's not the worst car and by far not the biggest turd I've ever owned.. It's just not for me!
The good part is I picked it up with only 28,000 miles and brandy new All Seasons on it in December. So far I am putting over 3000 miles a month on it at almost 40 mpg.. It is purely an A-B car and gets no love aside from what it needs

Always happy to share the beers with you
NOTE: anyone looking to mod the tail lights... Go Robs route!!! even though
he cut the holes bigger... He can still go back to stock. The stockers will still cover..
It was a lot less work then how I did mine, with the same great look

I was thinking about getting rid of the bulls eye tail lights too. It seems like a hard process though.
Has anyone tried using the Red Tint by VHT to turn the reverse light red, and then wiring it into the other brake light? Seems like it would be a lot less invasive and possibly give the same results, and would cost considerably less too. Most of the cost then would be in the new reverse lights.

The reverse light I bought were like 10 bux each on amazon. I've got about 100 tied up in the whole project. Best thing to do is find a junkyard hhr an strip the wiring, lights and brackets. If you can find the parts, maybe we can meet up for install. Chillacothe ain't that far :)
