Rust-Oleum automotive primer is LACQUER based, and the Plastic Primer is ENAMEL based.
NEVER, EVER apply a Lacquer over an Enamel.
me thinks there was not enough "flash time" between the coats.. Thus the paint stripper effect..

I bought mine from the local napa store, but like chefhhr said home depot and lowes carries it aswell. I just cleaned it the grill first and rubbed it real lightly with steel wool to roughen it it a little bit. Then sprayed it light first so it looked like black chrome then waited 1-1.5 hrs for the second coated and just got t

Daja vu, my interior panels did this , I followed the rattle cans directions waited for the correct temp, sanded sprayed waited for flash sprayed, and it looked amazing, the next day after drying time of 24 hours, crinkle crinkle crinkle, not a fun site after all that work, I sanded back down and sprayed waited 48 hours sand and sprayed waited 48 hours and sanded and sprayed, smooth a silk and very nice finish I used Krylon for plastic , so I learned prep and patienece pays off!!
