@SS Fan:Wow, your car's butt is very similar to what i was planning...even removing the HHR tag. That upper brake light is nifty, where did you find that? The blue SS is pretty snazzy, too. Painted, vinyl, or...?

the third brake light mods are typically just a vinyl, pull out your third brake light (not hard, just search for the how-to), clean your window on the inside, and place the vinyl. i've had mine since just after buying my SS in Feb '08, and no problems with it so far. no bubbling, peeling, or anything. just make sure you get it so it's sticky on the "front side", so that the cutout isn't backwards after sticking it to the window. i can't remember now where i got mine, but it was only about $8, and it has custom text (i named my car "Phoenix")

mind you, this is a rather old pic, and my car is a bit different now (different decals along lower window edge, and lowered), but nothing really different that you could see in the dark anyway.

Since you mentioned it...I replaced the horn. I pulled a dual unit out of a Malibu (junk yard). Changed the plug and mounted it up. Pretty dad-gum loud now.

Tails done

I accidentally over tinted the tail lights. I was just going for darker red, and ended up getting almost black. I was working under 2 bright halogen bulbs (my normal painting setup) which made it look a lot lighter than it was. Looked so nice though I went ahead and did the reflectors and side markers as well. I saw another person here has a very nice tutorial on pulling the bumper to remove the reflectors and tint them...I'm far too lazy for that and have a black car, so I just went ahead and just masked them off. Don't think I would recommend that for other colors, though. The reflectors have some wiggle to them and you're almost guaranteed to get some tint on your paint.

Anyway, here're the finished shots. Yeah, I know, very dirty. It's been raining or almost raining here for days.

All the tinting was done with Nite-Shades.

Hey! Welcome to the site!!! I'll make sure to keep my eye out for you when I'm in the area (not so much in the summer since school's out) but if you see someone in an orange LT waving, it's probably me!!
