Using fog lights as turn signals
Has anyone turned their fog lights into turn signals?
I don't need fog lights but am thinking about buying a pair and converting them into turn signals and disconnecting the factory lights.
I am sure I can rewire them to work - does anyone know for sure?

i carved out those "venetian" inserts and mounted a larger amber led for the glow.
check my gallery (earlier pics) for the idea
i ended up carving out the entire center, and mounting some obscure lexan from where i work

Neat idea. Did you use them as turn signals?

I checked the Michigan vehicle code for a height requirement relating to front turn signals, didn't find anything specific, so you shouldn't get a "Fix It" ticket if you make the change.
If you get a couple of sockets that will handle 3157 Amber bulbs or the LED equivalents, then extending the turn signal pigtails would be relatively easy.
Modifying the fog lights will be interesting, and bowtieboy's mod might be even easier.
