Looking to paint my Pillars but needs some advice.
I did a search but didnt find what i was looking for, Has anyone painted their pillars? how does the paint hold up with the texture that we have on our pillars? I planned on using adhesive promoter and a Black interior plastic paint.

Granted I haven't done this, so I don't have experience with the HHR, but yeah, I'd use plastic paint. I had to repaint all the trim pieces in my truck that were faded, and they have a very similar texture on some. What I used I bought from the local auto parts store that's made specifically for interior plastics and it worked great. I would think it'd work the same on the HHR.

i wrapped my A-pillars with crushed velvet, but the interior parts i have painted ( both textured and smooth surfaces ) were done so with Krylon Fusion and Duplicolor Vinyl & Fabric paints. the krylon seems to hold up better to wear and tear, but paint will inevitably get scratched. good luck with the pillars, can't wait to see how they turn out

I have thought of doing this soon. My car is black with a black interior. Never understood why the A pillars and the piece between the front and rear doors is grey but the piece behind the rear doors and the back hatch are black. Thought they all should have been black.

my exp. in painting plastics you still need to sand or the paint may not bond to the plastic properly, I've seen pics where people have painted the Interior plastic . I'd ask someone at a paint & body shop you trust on how the best way to do it.
& good luck hope it turns out . )
