Rear Seat = Interchangeable years?

Hi everyone, we have a 2008 Panel that we'd like to install a rear seat on. We've found lots of help online on how to do this, except one detail I can't find.

How interchangeable are the seats? Can a 2006 seat go in a 2008, etc? I'm finding every year of seat at local junk yards EXCEPT a 2008! What other years can I use?

Thanks!

Bonus Question: If those of you who have done this, any tips? I've been told to make sure I get the seat belts, all bolts, etc. Anything else you can think of? We are quite a ways from msot junk yards so I'd like to make sure I get everything in one shot.

to the forum niki090909!

As far as I know the rear seats are interchangeable from '06 to '11 with no changes, so you can broaden your search beyond the 2008 model year. And you are correct that you'll need to get everything you can from the donor vehicle, it will make the install go much faster and much easier. Here's a good thread on a rear seat install for you, just click the link below.....

Yup, all interchangable. I added a cloth ebony rear seat to my Panel, then a swapped out the front and rear seats for Black Leather.

I have a set of seats for sale in Ebony. I am in the Chicago area.

Seats are interchangeable 100% across all years.. the only problem is, the panel mid compartment wont fit in standard HHR's because of width.

Since they are adding a rear seat to a Panel that point really does not apply here.

Just don't want the OP to get confused thinking it can't be done Easily.

And You could have Easily bought a set of Rear Panel interior door panels to install it and it would fit fine. (The Toolbox)

I bought a pair on ebay just to cut up and combine with the windowed versions I also bought so I would have fully functional rear doors with arm rests and the door pockets.

So it Can be done Either way, just depends on the parts you buy for what you are doing.

I was passing along that tidbit in case they had a friend who wanted the mid compartment with a standard HHR.

Thanks so much for all the answers! This will broaden my search! I've got a few emails out to junk yards to see if they will ship. So far ranges are from $150 down to $75. $75 seems reasonable for shipping. The seat itself ranges from $99 to $200. Cheaper is good!

I'm a little concerned with shipping because of condition. My husband looked at one that they said was good on the phone, but it has blood stains on it when he got there. Yuck. I"m not picky, but oh come on!

American & Proud: I only need the rear seat, not the entire set. Also, I really need seat belts too. I'm trying to find it all in one.

WOW Free? Do you remember which junk yard it was? I've been using that site too. I've got a handful of emails out, waiting for replies. None are close enough for us to drive to or don't have what we need. Why isn't black more popular!?!
