I am so busy through the summer, but I need to check my schedules as I draw cars at car shows and I even DJ at car shows as well. I gotta see if I'm committed to the dates.

Oh, so you're thinking you might possibly want to come if your schedule works out? I didn't realize there was still anyone out there who was interested in coming. I guess I thought I had already grabbed the attention of everyone who was thinking about coming. Well, we'd certainly be glad to have you come if it works out for you.

Thanks,
Tyler from Green Bay, WI

We have a reservation at the Super 8 in Wis Dells, so we'll be spending the night. I suggest that we meet somewhere, perhaps a city park or something of the sort, socialize for a while, and decide what to do from there. There's certainly no shortage of entertainment in the Dells!! Perhaps someone who lives in the area might know of a good place to get together.

You know that's not a bad idea. I just did that this past weekend in Superior, WI and it was actually kind of cool. I just might end up doing that again, nothing beats FREE.

OK everyone, here's a possible itinerary/schedule that I put together. Please, let me know know what you guys think. This is completely tentative; nothing is final yet. If you have suggestions or other ideas, just let me know.

Wisconsin Dells HHR G2G Schedule

Saturday, August 14, 2010

****These times are all just approximate to give us an idea of how our day will be broken down. Nothing is final yet, we might end up spending more or less time at each of these places depending on how things play out.****

10:30am-12:00pm
We can meet up and just hang out at the Visitor's Center until everyone arrives.

Wisconsin Dells Visitor Information Center
701 Superior Street
Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965

I'm thinking that maybe this Visitor Information Center would be the best place to take pictures. Since I'm not from Wisconsin Dells, I don't really have a whole lot of idea as far good picture-taking spots. If anyone has suggestions of good locations, feel free to chime in.

12:00pm-1:30pm

Once our group is all together, we'll head to Culver's for lunch.

Culver's
312 Broadway
Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965
608-253-9080

1:30pm-3:30pm

After lunch, we'll go bowling:

Chalet Lanes
740 Elm Street
Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965
608-254-8727
http://www.chaletlanes.com/

Prices:
$3.50 per game
$2.50 for shoe rental

3:30pm-5:00pm

I'm not sure exactly, but I'm thinking it would be cool to take some sort of drive, maybe through a scenic area or just around the dells, with our HHRs. Show them off to all the tourists. I think it would be cool if we took pictures or video of this.

5:00pm-6:30pm

After our drive, this Drive-in A&W sounds like a cool place to go for supper. Check out their website; it looks pretty cool!

A&W Drive-in Restaurant
717 East Wisconsin Street
Portage, WI 53901
608-742-5759
http://www.awdrivein.com/

6:30pm-8:00pm

After supper, we can go miniature-golfing:

Pirates Cove Adventure Golf and Family Fun Center
193 State Highway 13
Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965
608-254-7500
http://www.piratescovewisdells.com/

Prices:
18 Holes- $7.75
Each addition course- $3.88
*There are 5 different 18-hole golf courses here, so we could do a couple if you guys want to.

8:00pm-I don't know

After mini-golfing, we can do a drive-in movie:

Big Sky Drive-in Theatre
16 Wisconsin Dells Parkway North
Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965
608-254-8025
http://www.bigskydrivein.com/

-Open at 8:00PM, Showtime is at Dusk
-Movies typically begin anywhere between 8:45-9:20PM
Prices:
Adult Ticket- $9.00

After the movie, we can go back to our hotel/sleeping arrangements (some of us might sleep in our HHRs) for the night.

Sunday, August 15, 2010

8:00am-9:30am

The last time I was in WI Dells, I ate at Mr. Pancake for breakfast and I really liked it; it was a cool place. I think you guys would probably like it too, but there are a ton of places to eat; we really could go anywhere.

Mr. Pancake
1405 Wisconsin Dells Pkwy
Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965
608-253-3663
http://www.mrpancake.com/

I'm wondering: Do you guys want to be done about this time Sunday morning so you can start heading home? Or would you rather do a few more things on Sunday? Let me know. This schedule is just tentative.

Estimated Costs:

I'm putting this together so we can have some sort of an idea what this will cost everyone. I tried to keep this as cheap, yet enjoyable as possible; that's why I put Culver's and A&W for eating out versus some expensive restaurant. I didn't put in Water Parks or Theme Parks simply to keep costs down. I know money is a bit of a concern for people (including me), and considering the way the economy is, now isn't exactly the best time for spending lots of money and vacationing. So I hope you all understand that I tried to make this as much of a "budget vacation" as possible.

$5.00 - $10.00 at Culver's for Lunch
$13.00 - $16.50 at the Bowling Alley (depending on if we want to bowl 3 games or 4 games)
$5.00 - $10.00 at A&W for Supper
$7.75 - $11.62 for Mini-golfing (depending on if we golf 1 course or 2 courses; there's 5 different golf courses total)
$9.00 - $15.00 at the Drive-in Movie Theater (Admission is $9.00, but depending on if you want to get popcorn or snacks or drinks, it might be a little more then. You could always bring in your own snacks and soda too, since it's a drive-in, to same money.)
$5.00 - $10.00 for breakfast at the restaurant.

So it will be about $44.75 - $73.12 per person plus fuel costs and hotel accommodations (if you decide to stay at a hotel). The price really depends on how much we decide to do.

****If you want, you could always bring an air mattress, blankets, and pillows, fold down your seats, and sleep in your HHR to save money. I did it the other weekend, and it wasn't bad at all; I actually thought it was kind of fun. I stopped in a rest area off the highway at like 10:00 at night, and there was quite a few minivans, conversion vans, SUVs, motor homes there. Since everyone else there was sleeping too, I didn’t really feel awkward or anything.

If you guys would rather do something else more than some of the things I have listed, or if you'd rather do more stuff on Sunday, just say so. If you have other ideas of things to do on top of what I already have, we probably could fit a couple other things in Saturday; there is definitely some leeway in the amount of time we spend at each place. Please feel free to make other suggestions/share your ideas, this is just a potential itinerary I put together to get things started.
