Well...I can probably explain why the rates are so high for that particular weekend...the Import kit/replicar car show is at Carlisle during that timeframe...all the Gettysburg hotels raise their prices for any Carlisle show weekend...my sister used to manage the Comfort Inn & the Holiday Inn Express...notice I said used to...the pair of hotels were sold several years ago...& they brought in their own management team...sending my sister to the unemployment line...

However...there are an abundance of hotels in the Gettysburg area these days...especially in the Routes 30 & 15 interchange area...I can remember when Gettysburg only had 1 hotel...now there are at least 15 major hotel chains in the immediate area, w/ 3 more that I know of being built...now if you guys want to stay in little old Hanover (I'm 12 miles east of Gettysburg)...I might be able to help you out...LOL

Update....!!! Reason the rates are high that week is Gettysburg College Graduation. I can get rooms at the America's Best Value Inn, in Gettysburg for $90.00 a night. Need fed back from folks planning on going to block off some rooms.

Just my but when looking for a place to stay it would be nice to consider a motel that allowed pets. Just a thought to consider.
