Anyone from Rhode Island?

New to the group. Have not seen many HHR's in RI. Anyone out there?

Anyone have an issue with Windshield pitting? Only have 13K miles, bought it new in September 05. Dealer says nothing he can do......

Pitting....

Windshield has small nicks in it from road debris. Found it in the spring after a long winter. Front end of car is not pitted but windshield is. In direct sun the glass seems sand blasted.....

First welcome to the formus. Lots of useful info to be found here and friendly people.

Well, welcome to the North East. Rhode Island......Rhode Island....it's small enough so finding other HHR's should be like shooting fish in a barrel. If you run into a group of them, you are either in Massachusetts or Connecticut!

If I find anything in your area, I'll let you know. Otherwise, there are car nights not too far over the border in Mass and CT.

Welcome
I'm relatively new here also. Been at this forum a month and have over 100 posts!
Addiction wants to be a four letter word!

I did join another forum that shall remain nameless back in Sept '05, but I rarely post there as this community rocks, and the other, well it could if the entrance cost was not so high....... But I digress......

We got our HHR, widshield pitted, at 8,700 miles. It had spent a few moths in Detroit then off to an auction where my local dealer purchased it. His daughter drove it for a couple of months and now we have it.
So our windshield has that pitted haze as well. Soft glass on new windshields.. Eventually when it becomes real bad, insurance can pay for a new one. Usually before that happens, a mysterious crack appears Darn road rocks.......

The car is great and we put 2,400 miles on it in a month

Get the sway bar from SoCal. It really brings the car to where it should have been leaving the factory, much safer in cornering at little ride expense.

I am a M******* from the sourhern tip of Rhode Island called New London CT. Actually residing in Ledyard. My wife drives to Newport each day. I run a rather large/time consuming pop culture front, Sarge's Comics Etc.

My friend, Feral ( real name Joey Shafino), works for me and is from Providence. He keeps his car registered there.
He is, er, unique. Here he is, my friend from Rhode Island:

I have lived in Mass in Hull, Marshfield ,Amherts and Northhampton. You know, I'm not sure I have ever spent a night in Rhode Island. Weird, eh? Heck, I never set foot in CT until I was 24. Too busy living in NH too, but that is another story.

I'm sure you will see many HHRs as the year progresses. They keep leaving the dealer lots and have to be somewhere!

Where in RI are you? If you are from Coventry south it may be worth your while to visit the Ocean Beach Monday night car show in New London. I was the ony HHR there this week, but sure would love some company!
Lots of other neat old cars though, a beach, boardwalk, food, bikers, DJ playing oldies ( Real oldies), amusements, etc. Not a bad gig .

Here is some info onlocal shows. I had posted it elsewhere as well, but why not post it again to get the word out :

Hope to see ya around at one. Most of the shows go until sundown, so June is the time of the longest shows.

If yer bored and just wanna get together with another HHR person, just email me a PM at this site, or call my store ( Phone, email, etc on the site ).

I'm always modding the car or planning some small changes. It is a real pleasure to have such a fun platform to operate on!
I'll be meeting up with another forum member to buy his extra rims later on, so these forums do work well.
