09 OC CA Auto Show HHR & Fun Stuff

I wonder why the AA5 option costs more, not less. The rear window opening is, I am assuming, stamped into the sheet metal. If you eliminate that step, you use less energy and create less metallic waste, and there is no cost for the window glass, gaskets, and what-have-you.

Yup, it does look funky in the pic
Used to my spot to stash stuff real EZ in this area, kinda looks goofy with the lid removed and the pod just appearing to be "stuck" there , in all the same dash color too.

The window sticker on the SS must be wrong. This vehicle has an RPD to go with the 5-speed? How come all the delays when we order this combo. This vehicle is equipped with the 5-speed. That could be my HHR if it was Aqua Blue with ebony/black interior. Shame it also has the Sunstroke roof. I hope when my dealer gives me my new build week it is still in the month of October. Man, does that RPD look ugly/cheap/fake. I wonder if it is even a working model or just there for show.
yeah, that's not right. i've been waiting since july 12th for my RPD with the 5-speed. how can they make this one and not mine?

Less volume = higher cost...I priced the bare rear door shells for a panel...about $250 MORE each than sedan doors!

From the photo in the link I gave earlier, it is on the pillar on the Cobalt. I think it would have been better there on the HHR also. Hard to believe that they eliminated an entire storage bin for that LCD screen. I would have rather seen them reposition the things on the center panal where the stupid warning light is for the airbags and put it there.

Nope-I LOVE it. (I use my G-Timer for some of those functions and my GPS for other functions). I only think that GM chose a poor location for it. I dont know if the screen is touch or not. If not, then they could have fit it on the center panal and put the button next to it. It would take a little planning, but if they used a normal sized DIN radio, then relocated the large dial for dimming the gauge lights and the driving light button, and eliminated the pointless status light for the airbag then there would be plenty of room above the radio. They could easily fit those 2 controls with the hazard button.
If it is touch, then it could have gone on the side pillar like the Cobalt. I just think the bin on the dash is very nice to have-the sales brochure even highlights it. Even if they put the RPD behind the bin...still accessable as long as the bin door is closed.
