You are a brave man leaving your intercooler exposed like that. One big chunk of road debris and it's done.
I once got hit by a piece of truck tire on the freeway, in my old car, it took out a foglamp, the lower grill, the bottom engine cover and put a crease in my hood. The only thing that saved the radiator was the grill.
The blue wheels look awesome on that red HHR. I never would have thought that they would go together so well.

I manage a bodyshop, have seen tires do some insane damage. Actually just had a 2012 Equinox down for 3 weeks as GM couldn't provide me with the fuel line a tire had damaged underneath it.
The fascia alone would make it insurance worthy if damaged ($1,011.60 alone replaced with OE and painted), so the intercooler is just a calculated risk. An OEM IC is $424.29 and additional mechanical rate labor, so it'd be covered .
